The ABC rule

I recently invited Olivia from Hong Kong to our study group and she watched the clash we had the last few days in that group. All in all she was not too much interested in the text of that group and thought the translation effort is not worth it. Actually the concept should include a separated group for arguing to keep the study group clean for valueable content as we grow. Maybe Sihing Marco will take notice of this problem and take the corresponding actions for a concept.

Correction 01st of September 2024:

It is untrue that Olivia is not interested in the text of this group. This was a projection of my own mind to her. Olivia has different reasons.

Marco already created a separated group for a single incident but I think we should move even more arguing from the main study group to separate channels.

Still Olivia analyzed some of the content and used the ABC rule. Her analytics are profound. I think it is worth to take notice of this ABC rule. You can learn a lot about what happend the last few days and about what could have been done differently. Here is what Olivia has to say about the ABC rule:

When the mother chooses to change B, she does not think that the decline in academic performance is something worth getting angry about.

This principle can be translated to a lot of cases. In my case I changed B the way that I lost interest in reading through all the arguing because I thought it is not worth reading through all of this text. The learning effect of all the arguing in a clash is almost 0 while the effort exceeds the capability of reading due to time limitations as I have lots of other things to do in life (working, enjoy life, communicate with somebody like Olivia, …).

In addition the learning part of the e-book of sihing Marco about the information overload and the need for information filtering which he calls information hygiene is already part of my B (of my view of this matter). Leisure time is valueable and therefore should not be wasted with nonsense information.

When we recognized the quality of an information source we can also draw our conclusion if we want to continue to use this source or if we consult other sources that we prefer because of better quality. We can also gain a lot when we put the problems to a more abstract level. At least I know enough about the details of the clash and I have enough information about it. Instead of reading through even more arguing from both sides I rather try to work out concepts or think into something like the ABC rule that can help me in dozens of cases when applied correctly to the challenges that we face in life. We are a study group but that does not mean that everyone has unlimited leisure time to waste without an effect that is worth the effort. That is changing B for effectiveness in inner engineering.

With all that being said it is wise to meditate about how to change B to get another C. I think I also heared the master Shi Heng Yi in a video telling that whenever he could get angry about something he first searches inside himself. In essence it is the same view of the ABC method to change B and not to attempt to change A. Try to also understand my point of view. I won’t waste time with too much nonsense and I can be quite rigid with that protection of myself.

May the wisdom of the sentence “Because mistakes are inevitable, everyone makes mistakes, and not everything in the world can be changed” be with you. May it help everyone to achive happiness and avoid the snakepit of sorrow.

I am currently investigating https://buildship.com/ to check if filtering and information hygiene can be achieved with AI automation.
